Focus
focus (fō’kəs)
noun (This is for you, the reader.)
1. a point of origin from which ideas or influences, for example, originate: center, core, heart, root.
verb (This is a note to self.) (Also to self…verbs require action!)
1. to direct toward a common center: center, channel, concentrate, converge, focalize.
2. to devote (oneself or one’s efforts): address, apply, buckle down, concentrate, dedicate, devote, stop-thinking-about-it-and-just-do-it-already!
For me, the first line in a letter or email, or anything I write for that matter, has always been the hardest. I tend to procrastinate, lose concentration and therefore desire, or am too obsessive about finding the perfect choice of words that I end up giving up altogether. For those reasons I have endless Post-It notes, scraps of paper, and spiral notebooks full of things I’ve written, things I remember and things I cherish. Someday I hope to put them all neat and organized into a digital scrapbook, complete with cute layouts and colorful designs. But in the meantime, I’ve decided to put them all here, both for safekeeping and to share with all who are interested. I hope you enjoy browsing through my mementos.
